Good things are blooming downtown with flowers, music, and garden art. Downtown merchants compete in their fabulous "Pink Tablecloth Contest." Vote for your favorite to be eligible for Downtown gift certificates.
Blooming Annuals for Sale - Just in time for Spring planting
Downtown Crystal Lake will be selling hanging baskets and planters with beautiful blooming plants from Countryside Flowershop & Nursery. Plants will be on sale at the corner of Brink & Williams (near Heisler's Bootery). Thanks to our good friends at Countryside, this will be a fundraiser for Downtown Crystal Lake/Main Street.

Garden Art for Sale
We're looking for Garden Art vendors -- handmade and created by the artist. Examples of garden art include: outdoor garden sculptures, statues, fountains, bird baths, bird houses, bird feeders, whirligigs, wind chimes, etc.

Displays and Demonstrations
Looking for a really unique idea for this summer's blooms?? How about planting a quilt garden? Our friends from Countryside Flowershop & Nursery will be bringing their knowledge, know-how and planting guides too! Samples will be on display.
Information will be onsite for the upcoming Northern Illinois Quilt Festival, which will be going on this summer across the northern Illinois. Learn more about other local quilt events, including:
Blocks of Quilts - Saturday, July 9th in Downtown Crystal Lake
Merchants will be displaying quilts of all styles and sizes. "Purchase" a sidewalk square and make your own Sidewalk Quilt. Chalk will be provided. Proceeds will benefit a Quilts of Valor, a non-profit organization providing quilts to veterans.

2010 "A Garden Party" - Wow! What a day we had!
Hundreds of people braved the cold, rain, wind, (spots of) sunshine, sleet, and hail (yes, HAIL!) to come and enjoy Downtown Crystal Lake's exciting Spring event, "A Garden Party." Despite the weather challenges, people were out shopping at the stores and garden art vendor booths. In addition to weather history, our Pink Tablecloth Contest made history this year also when one business received BOTH the Judges' Choice AND the Peoples' Choice awards for the Pink Tablecloth Contest! Congratulations to the team at Le Petit Marche for their "Alice in Wonderland" creation!

Pink Tablecloth Contest - 2010
Creative merchants competed in the ever-popular "Pink Tablecloth Contest". The public votes on their favorite pink tablecloth display to enter a drawing for valuable downtown gift certificates. This year, Le Petit Marche was the winner of BOTH the Judges' Choice and Peoples' Choice Awards! Congratulations!
